Dear Parishioners,

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. Welcome back to everyone who was on vacation. As we begin a new school year, I have just some brief points I would like to call to your attention.

  • I would like to welcome our guests from Domestic Church Media who will be speaking at all the Masses. They do so much good promoting the faith through modern media: the radio and the internet and we are glad to help them out with their fundraising and getting the word out about it. Today (September 10th), we are having a specially broadcasted Mass. So, even if you are not at church, feel free to tune in. For more information, please see: https://domesticchurchmedia.org/
  • A new school year begins. Welcome back to everyone who goes to our School and Religious Educa- tion program. As many of you may know, we are still looking for teachers for some of our Religious Education classes. So, if you are available and willing, please contact Sister Bernadette.
  • We will be having a meeting of our Extaordinary Ministers of Holy Communion this Saturday September 16th after the 9 am Mass. At this meeting, I plan to practice all the norms I plan to imple- ment that weekend. So, if you are an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion who distributes Eucha- rist at Mass, please come to this meeting. Furthermore, if you are not on the mailing list, please email me at toddcarterpriest@gmail.com. (If you have not received any emails from me this summer, you are not on the list.)
  • The Bible and the Sacraments scripture study begins September 18th at 7 pm in the conference room. If you want to learn more about your faith with this great series of studies, feel free to contact me about it at toddcarterpriest@gmail.com.
  • The Thursday night Reading Group is right now voting on which book we will read next. We should begin reading it in November. So, I will be sure to let you all know what it is before then.
  • The next Family Board Game Night is September 29th. I am glad that so many people have been coming to that and enjoying tabletop games of all sorts. I know this can also be a hobby that is hard to get into since there are so many games that one can choose to play. So, for this next session, I plan to teach anyone who would like to come, a very good simple game known as Ticket to Ride. It’s for players 8 years old and up, and a lot of fun. So, if you are new to tabletop board games and would like to learn something, please let me know at toddcarterpriest@gmail.com.
  • The Parish Picnic will be on October 15th. We had to delay it this year because of some scheduling issues. But it should still be a great event for those who would like to attend. The 50/50 Raffle winners will be drawn on September 17th at 5 pm in the church’s gathering space.

But, whatever you are up to this new school year, give glory to God!

Peace,

Fr. Carter
