Fr.MikeIIDear brothers and sisters,

This weekend we remember the 15th Anniversary of the horrible tragedy that took place on September 11, 2001. We remember and lift up in prayer all those who lost their lives on that day. We also pray for peace throughout the world this weekend and we keep in prayer, all of the families who lost love ones in this tragedy.

We also remember in a special way the soul of our beloved Fr. Lawrence Kochumalakunnel who died peacefully in India on September 6, 2016. He is such a big part of our parish family of Holy Innocents and will remain in our thoughts and prayers as we remember his amazingly devoted service to our parish. A Memorial Mass for Fr. Lawrence will take place here at Holy Innocents on Saturday, September 17th at 11 am.

Peace,

Fr. Mike

Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace!
That where there is hatred, I may bring love.
That where there is wrong, I may bring the spirit of forgiveness.
That where there is discord, I may bring harmony.
That where there is error, I may bring truth.
That where there is doubt, I may bring faith.
That where there is despair, I may bring hope.
That where there are shadows, I may bring light.
That where there is sadness, I may bring joy.
Lord, grant that I may seek rather to comfort, than to be comforted.
To understand, than to be understood.
To love, than to be loved.
For it is by self-forgetting that one finds.
It is by forgiving that one is forgiven.
It is by dying that one awakens to Eternal Life.

–Saint Francis of Assisi
