Dear brothers and sisters,
Next weekend is Pledge Sunday here at Holy Innocents for the 2016 Annual Catholic Appeal.
Each year our Bishop seeks the support of all the members of the Diocese to further the work of our ministries. Each of us has a vital part in all we do in Christ’s name, and each of us can share in all we do with a gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal. Our single Act of Faith propels the Works of Love that build up our Church. You make that happen with a generous gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal. This year, Holy Innocents Parish’s share of the overall diocesan goal remains the same as it was for the year 2015, which is $56,405.
Last year we exceeded that goal with pledges of over $70,000, achieving 124% of goal, from only 13% of our registered parishioners here at Holy Innocents. 15% of goal plus 50% of the amount exceeding goal was returned to our Parish. The same formula holds true in 2016. If we increase our participation rate by at least ten percent (only 30 more donor families), we will receive an additional 5% return.
As the people of the Diocese of Trenton, you have the opportunity to help others see Christ working in our midst. I ask you to pray about, and truly reflect on any help you can give. We truly need all of our parishioners to participate. This year the Diocese of Trenton is again striving to reach its overall goal of $7 million across its 107 parishes.
I am always grateful and moved by the level of support you give to our Parish here at Holy Innocents. I thank you for this support, and may God continue to bless you and your family.
Peace,
Fr. Mike
