Week of June 25, 2017

Dear Parishioners,

Summer is finally here! We have completed our school year and our high holy days. And now the parish takes it easy for a few months before we gear up again for the Fall. For me, this is a time of vacation and preparation. So, in that spirit, I just have a few items to bring up for this week.

First, we need help with the Parish Picnic. The Parish Picnic usually takes place midSeptember and we have been unable to find volunteers for it. So, I extend an invitation to anyone who thinks they may like to help the parish by helping to host this fundraiser, to please contact me. I would hate not to have it.

Second, I am restarting the School Board. I would like to integrate the school and parish life a bit more this year and the School Board would go a long way to help this. So, if you are a person who has a background in education or advertising and have a special love for Catholic Education, feel free to contact me. We have a great school and I want to see it continue to prosper.

Third, I’m taking a trip to the Holy Land and anyone who would like to come is welcomed. You may have seen the purple and blue flyers on the tables in the gathering space from Holy Land and Beyond, LLC. The trip is from November 13th-22nd. I will be acting as spiritual adviser for the trip. Feel free to contact Myrna Candelario or Olen Jaymee for details. (See their info on the flyer.) I always wanted to go to the Holy Land and so this is a great opportunity for me. Fr. Evarist and many other priests have gone on trips with this group and recommended me to them.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who participated last week with the indoor Eucharistic procession at the 10 am mass. The altar servers did a great job with only a short practice immediately before Mass. The music was very lovely and devout. I am sorry for not announcing it better since it was short notice. But, that is something I plan to correct in the future. It is good to love Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.

God bless!

Peace,

Fr. Carter
