Week of April 26, 2026

Dear Parishioners,

I have a couple things I would like to mention this week.

First, I would like to thank Fran Burke for her years serving as Director of Religious Education for the parish. She has accomplished many things in her tenure including re-establishing the Catechetical Sundays and implementing a Family Program. She has decided to focus on her work at St. Anselm’s parish and we wish her well in that endeavor. May she spread Christ’s message where she decides to go in life. This Sunday will be her last Children’s Liturgy at the 10 am Mass. So, please let her know how much she is appreciated if you see her there.

Second, we need to hire a new Religious Education Coordinator. This is a part time position for someone who will be in charge of preparing the school-aged children of the parish for their sacraments. It involves choosing curriculum, training catechists, making sure VIRTUS is implemented for the protection of children, planning liturgies for First Holy Communion and Confirmation, being an evangelizing presence to families of the parish and working with families to raise Catholic children to be lifelong practicing Catholics. People who are interested can inquire at the office. Lastly, I have some calendar updates for the coming month:

  • Monday, April 27th will be the Game Show Palooza sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. It will be in the school cafeteria at 7pm. This is a fundraiser for the parish. So, I hope you can make it. (Tickets available for sale at Masses this weekend.)
  • Saturday, May 2nd our First Holy Communion at 10 am. So, there will be no TLM first Saturday Mass that morning. Please pray for our children that they may grow in their faith and love our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament.
  • Sunday, May 3rd at the 10 am Mass will be our May Crowning of the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary by our Religious Education program.
  • Friday, May 15th Parish Game Night at 5 pm in Building 2 (former Spiritual Center) It’s a fun time and a good way to build fellowship with others.
  • Saturday, May 23rd at 5 pm is the last Music Lecture by Christa Dalmazio. These talks have been awesome and help us to appreciate Sacred Music.

God Bless!

Fr. Carter
