Dear Parishioners,

Happy Easter! Every day is an opportunity to love God. On this day in particular we should love Him because we remember what He has done for us: He has won our salvation. Our God is so great that even when we deserve eternal death in accordance with our sin, He still saves us and brings us into communion with Him. He does not save us despite our willingness to turn away from Him, but changes us from the inside with His sanctifying grace. He won this abundant grace through the death of His Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. What a glorious day God has given to us!

It is on this day that I would like to announce my intention to have a Eucharistic procession at our Parish on the Feast of Corpus Christi, Sunday June 11th at the Noon Mass. I know this is not something we have done for a while. And we need to put some work and coordination into it. But it would be a great thing to accomplish for Our Parish that could involve everyone. So, if you would like to volunteer to help plan or coordinate this event, feel free to reach out to me over email or through our office.

A Eucharistic procession is an extension of Eucharistic Adoration. In Adoration, we put the Eucharist (which is the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus) into a monstrance so that everyone can see the Eucharist. Many people already come throughout the day on Thursday in our parish because we have the Eucharistic exposed in the chapel in this way. In a Eucharistic procession, we not only worship our Lord at the altar. But also the whole congregation marches with the Eucharist (held by the priest) in a procession. Sometimes parishes even have little altars set up on their land and have a benediction at each altar. Then we all process into Church for one final benediction.

That is the plan and if it is God’s will, we can do it.

God bless!

Fr. Carter

P.S. One thing we do need is a canopy (a covering for the Eucharist). If anyone knows where to find one or would like to donate money to buy one, it would help a lot.
