Dear Parishioners,

This week we begin the Holy Season of Lent and so I would like to tell you about all the events that we have during this month.

• This Wednesday March 2nd is Ash Wednesday. We will keep the same schedule that we had last year with Masses at 9 am and 7 pm. We will distribute ashes at those times along with two liturgies of the word at 7 am and 12:10 pm. We will also distribute ashes using cotton swabs just like last year.
• Every Friday of Lent at 6 pm, in the Church will be the Stations of the Cross.
• I will be offering Traditional Latin Masses as normal on the first Saturdays of the Month at 9 am (March 5th and April 2nd and 3 pm on the Third Sundays. The Sunday Traditional Latin Mass in April will fall on Easter Sunday, so it will be moved to the week after on April 24th at 3 pm, on Divine Mercy Sunday.
• There will be additional times for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. (Confessions) After any Mass, feel free to ask the priest to go to confession. Also, On Thursday March 31st at 6 pm I will be in the confessional for an hour in case anyone wants to go right before Holy Week. Also, we are keeping the normal times on Saturday from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm. All confessions will be heard in the confessionals that can be found in the chapel/crying room. Remember, you ought to go to confession at least once per year.
• On Tuesdays after 9 am Daily Mass, we will have devotions to the Holy Face of Jesus.
• Reminder: Every Friday in Lent is a day of abstinence from meat. So, please don’t eat meat on those days unless you are below the age of 14. Also, Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fasting, when you should eat less than 2 meals per day, unless you are not between the ages of 18 and 59.
• Lastly, the new Bible Study begins on March 9th at 7 pm. Kim DiBiase talked about it last week at all the Masses. But to reiterate: It’s about Jesus: the Way the Truth and the Life. It’s a 10 week long course and the registration fee is $29.95.
