Dear Parishioners,

This year our parish celebrates its 60th Anniversary. The Pastoral Council and I are planning several events for this upcoming year. However, these events are a group effort. So, please consider if you are able to help make them the best events they can be. We need your help for the following events:

  • Anniversary Dinner. On Saturday August 17th (which is the day before the actual anniversary of the parish), we plan to have a Mass with all our previous pastors (and other friendly priests) invited. Afterward, we will have a dinner at the Friendly Sons of Shillelagh. So, for this event, we need people to set up, decorate, break down, serve and sell tickets (at the Masses). Carol Maliff of the Pastoral Council will be helping out with forming this team. So, please contact her at jcmaliff@aol.com. (Also, I would like to thank Carol for providing the wonderful 60th Anniversary banner we have hanging in our Church’s gathering space.)
  • International Night: We are reviving this event in October. In it, people will bring food that represents their culture in a big potluck dinner. So, in order to have it, we need people to volunteer to bring food and help serve. Anthony Scotto who is the Chair of the Pastoral Council is heading up this event. So, if you would like to help, please email him: anthonyzio@aol.com.
  • Photos for the anniversary photo album: We are still collecting photos for our 60th Anniversary digital photo album. So, if there are any photos you would like to be in the album of the parish or a parish event, then please submit them to the Office or contact Nito Pineda at npineda469@aol.com.
  • Lastly, we would like to know which families in our parish have been with us since the beginning. We want to find some way to honor and thank the families over the last 60 years. So, if you are a member of a long time family, please let us know.

Other than that, we are planning a parish retreat in June and are looking into some other events throughout the year. So, even if you can’t help, prayers are appreciated as always. If you have any questions, concerns, ideas or would just like to volunteer, please contact me at toddcarterpriest@gmail.com.

God bless!

Father Carter
