Dear Parishioners,

I am going on Pilgrimage to the Holy Land next year and I would like to invite any of you interested in traveling to the Holy Land to come there with me. We have the flyers on the pamphlet rack next to the library and an advertisement on the bulletin board. But, in case you missed it, here are the details:

  • It is for ten days from November 10th to November 19th, 2023.
  • We are going to see many of the locations featured in scripture. This includes Bethlehem, Nazareth, Cana, Jerusalem and the Red Sea.
  • The Pilgrimage costs $3,890.00. And includes travel, lodging, breakfast, dinner, entrance fees and guided tours.
  • Please sign up soon because we need to know numbers for the trip.
  • Some of you might be wondering why anyone would like to travel to the Holy Land. Here are some reasons:
    • It is the place where Jesus walked. Going to the Holy Land helps us to realize how incarnational our entire faith is.
    • It is where most of the Bible takes place. So, you will have a deeper understanding of, and appreciation for scripture.
    • It is a holy Catholic practice to go on pilgrimage.
    • It is safe. This tends to be a concern for people because we hear about so many wars and bombings in Israel. However, everyone realizes that tourism is very necessary for the prosperity of the region and all the pilgrimage sites are protected by security.
    • It is fun, especially if you love theology and history.

So, please consider coming on this pilgrimage.

God bless!

Fr. Carter
