Week of May 26, 2024

Dear Parishioners,

Next week, we will be having a Eucharistic Procession after the Noon Mass in celebration of the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of our Lord, also known is Corpus Christi. For anyone who needs a refresher of what this entails, here is my explanation from last year’s bulletin:

A Eucharistic Procession is an extension of Eucharistic Adoration. In Adoration, we put the Eucharist (which is the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus) into a monstrance so that everyone can see the Eucharist. Many people already come throughout the day on Thursday in our parish because we have the Eucharist exposed in the chapel in this way. In a Eucharistic Procession, we not only worship our Lord at the altar, but also everyone gathered marches with the Eucharist (held by the priest) in a procession. Sometimes parishes even have little altars set up on their land and have a benediction at each altar. Then we all process into Church for one final benediction.

I was very pleased with how well it went last year and it gives glory to God. So, we are doing it again. We will be taking the same route with the same stop for another benediction. (Hopefully no buses will be in the way this year.) The Knights of Columbus will be helping out with the canopy and I thank them and the servers for their help. So, if you leave Mass early, please be mindful of people walking and wait patiently if you cannot get out of the parking lot immediately after Mass.

I hope that is all clear. If not, I’m always available to answer questions.

God Bless!

Fr. Carter
